      In these dry biographies, readers learn about the backgrounds, interests, career highlights, and latest projects of popular contemporary writers. The text is easy to read for young kids (who are not some of these authors' target audience); uninteresting color photographs break up the pages. Mostly fans will find the anecdotes interesting.
